Introduction

This initiative is about more than a single moment. It reflects where we have been, where we are today, and where we are moving together.

Where We Were

In past decades, trust between residents and police was deeply strained. Those years remain part of our history and remind us why continued effort is essential.

Where We Are

Trust has improved, relationships are stronger, and areas have been improved while others are being recognized. The Police and Community Trust Initiative is one part of that progress, alongside other efforts seen and unseen, and it continues to build on the foundation already being laid.

Where We Are Going

Residents, officers, and stakeholders pointed to what matters most: presence, respect, and communication. These shared priorities shape the path forward as we continue building lasting trust and stronger community relationships.

Seen. Heard. Respected.

Rebuilding together through...
